The Quality Credit Frameworks (QCF) Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) qualification, sometimes referred to colloquially as “PETALS”, is an initial teacher training qualification, studied at QCF Level 3 or 4, for those new to teaching, or wanting to start out as associate teachers, or currently teaching in the United Kingdom.

Level 3 Award in Education and Training (former PTLLS) The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is designed to give people the knowledge and confidence to teach in the post 16 education sector. This qualification replaces the old PTLLS course in 2011. Certifying people to teach at a nationally accredited standard and sometimes in abroad too.

In order to become an accredited school you must be qualified in the subject you are teaching and also have an appropriate teaching qualification. You should also have a minimum of six months qualified experience in the area in which you would like to teach.
